Robert S. Lince Award

For Achievement in Local History and Historic Preservation

Selah Downtown Association created the “Robert S. Lince Award” in 2018 to recognize individual residents, organizations and/or other groups for their immense contributions and notable achievement in uncovering and sharing local history and/or preserving historic buildings, sites and other structures located in or near historic, downtown Selah.

The board of directors will periodically seek nominations and award the Robert S. Lince Award when it is deemed appropriate and fitting.

Robert S. Lince is the author of The Selah Story: History of the Selah, East Selah and Wenas Valley in Yakima County, Washington (1984). “The Selah Story” is the most comprehensive account of local history to date and weaves within the story the author’s personal recollections of the community.
